Happy Bill of Rights Day.

December 15 is Bill of Rights Day. A day to honor the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution. Those who opposed the inclusion of a Bill of Rights in the Constitution of the United States objected on the grounds that the inclusion of any such enumeration of rights was unnecessary. However, in light of the constant diminution of personal liberty in the face of an ever growing government, one must wonder where we might be had these rights not been specifically enumerated in the Constitution.

The best way to honor the Bill of Rights is to resolve to exercise those rights in the new year.

This is your Bill of Rights. http://billofrights.org/

Maughan and Maughan LC is a law firm. We provide services in a variety of legal disciplines including the practice of criminal defense law. The rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights are important to our work. More importantly, however, they are essential to personal liberty. Without respect for these rights tyranny will follow. If we do not respect these rights enough to exercise them and to insist that they are kept inviolate we will slowly lose them. Without them we would not even have the freedom to decry their loss.

Happy Bill of Rights Day. Give thanks that we live in a country where these God given freedoms are enshrined in the Constitution and celebrate by exercising your rights, lest they be lost.
